VC 604: Digital Video Communication (Spring/Second Semester Elective)
This course teaches you the basics of filmmaking. Students will be learning different phases in pre-production, production and post-production. These include, script writing, visualizing shots, filming, non-linear editing, sound recording and projection.

Each student will be making his/her short film during the course. At the end, a short film festival IDC Cinema Ghar is celebrated and movies are evaluated by a prominent filmmaker/technician.

VC 605: Photo Communication (Autumn/First Semester Elective)
This course teaches the student the basics of photography and covers topics including DSLR Camera controls, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure, color temperature, lenses, their effect on images etc. The course makes the student confident enough to shoot images like any professional photographer.

The teaching approach is through discussions and hands-on experience with DSLR cameras. Forenoons are spent on theory and afternoon are reserved for experimenting. Along with this, student will be working on a porfolio which will be showcased as an exhibition at the end.

Personal DSLRs are desirable for this class. For IDC students who do not own one, a limited number of DSLRs can be arranged depending on availability.

VC 610: Reproduction Methods and Technology (Spring/Second Semester Elective)
This course teaches the students to reproduce their creative work for both digital and print medium. You will be exposed to writing html and css codes and develop web pages and create images and content optimized for digital media. Also students will familiarize with the process behind designing and reproducing for the print medium. A field trip also is organized for visiting and understanding high-end print facilities.

At the end of the course students will have their personal webpage uploaded to the IIT personal webpage space.
