Research work

Amreen Khan has completed her Ph.D. (2018-2024) in finding biomedical solutions for cancer and wound healing at the interdisciplinary Centre for Research in Nanotechnology and Science, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. She worked in collaboration with the Biosciences and Bioengineering department and Chemical Engineering department of IITB, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Regulatory Toxicology studies), and Advanced Centre for Treatment Research and Education in Cancer (in vivo PTT studies). She is skilled in polymeric biomaterials, nanomedicine formulation development, organic-inorganic nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, nanotheranostics, molecular docking, solid-phase peptide synthesis, nanofiber, microneedle, MEMS drug delivery device fabrication, thin-film, medical sponges, 3D printed scaffolds, small molecules-peptide screening and pharmacodynamics. Additionally, she has gained teaching assistantship experience. She has also mastered in vitro and in vivo techniques including organoid formation, assays of biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, cell cycle analysis, ROS generation, photothermal therapy, in vitro to in vivo transition, biochemical, histpathology, serum biochemistry and immunotoxicity on animal models. Specialization: 2/3D biomaterials and drug delivery.
