“No one can stop an idea for which the time has come and the idea comes only with a thought” ;and the thought for me is New Model of Modern Infrastructure which is Cost-Optimum, Quality work and Sustainable.
The Path Followed...
I developed a knack for digital drafting and BIM tools, thanks to the persistent reminders from my friends as the meaning of my native name ‘Ankan’ resembles ‘Drawing’ in English. On the way, the encouragement recieved by Professors towards innovation and exploration implanted the zeal for research activities. IIT Bombay furthered the wish for pursuing Academics as a Career by awarding with an Institute Silver Medel during my Masters.
What Keeps Me Going?
Apart from academics, playing contract bridge and singing songs have always kept me enticed. Becoming runners-up in the Junior National Bridge Championship and completing my 5th-year diploma in music have been two notable achievements in these fields. My interest in sustainable housing development has motivated me to join ‘Team Shunya’ as an extra-curricular activity with the goal of building a zero energy, zero carbon, and zero water-consuming house.

PhD Research Synopsis
Topic: Knowledge-Information Dichotomy to Develop Automated Compliance Checking Systems: A Transition from Information Models to Knowledge Models (A Softtech Engineers Limited Sponsored Project)
Why? Several regulations, standards, and requirements govern the lifecycle of the built environment. In India more than 75 permits are required to get a Construction Permit. Compliance checking is a complex task that is often conducted manually, making it a resource-intensive, and error-prone affair. The process get further complicated by presence of subjective regulations. Can you anticipate the potential impact of this on the time component of the project?
Project Manager, Team SHUNYA
Team SHUNYA is a student technical team of the institute working in the field of sustainable habitat for the past 12 years. I worked as a Construction Manger of the team, for Project Vivaan, for which -
- Managed a team of 50+ students and spearheading Civil subsystem as a Core team member
- Developied 5D project schedule, Contract and Safety Documents, and co-leaded the LCA analysis for the 2-storey net zero water, energy, and carbon building
- For the building construction by the team currently situated at IIT Bombay, we were awarded as Runners up at US Dolar Decathlon Build Challange 2023

I have worked in Pinnacle Infotech Solutions for a tenure of 2.25 years as a Senior BIM Engineer. During my tenure with the organization I have -
- Lead a team of 5-8 engineers working on US and Middle East projects
- Trained team members on BIM tools such as Revit and Tekla
- Created 5D simulation models and shop drawings for international projects
- Conducted interviews at 3 engineering colleges of Jaipur, in 2017
Asst. Manager (Projects RnD)
After aquiring the MTech degree in Construction Technology and Management, I worked at Yogesh Enterprises, a Pune-based Real-Estate Builder in 2020.
- Developed micro-level (L6) project schedule with resource loading for cash-flow forecasting
- Produced contract documents and Work Orders for real estate projects
- Co-ordinated and inspected the work of contractors as per GFC drawings
