"One who analyses speech and one who inquires into sacrifice,I am a linguist in mind and a musician at heart. I grew up in Bhatpara, a suburb on the outskirts of Kolkata in a family which produced some of the greatest torchbearers of oriental learning (logic, hermeneutics, grammar, law) for more than three centuries. I was exposed to music at an early age and took to learning Sitar. I learnt it formally under several able professional musicians and it has now become my all-time companion.
After having completed my Bachelor's (English) and Master's (Linguistics) degrees and a brief stint with French language and literature, I moved towards research in Computational Linguistics in Sanskrit under the guidance of Prof. Malhar Kulkarni at IIT Bombay.
