Our group in Centre of Studies in Resources Engineering, IIT Bombay, led by Dr. Karthikeyan Lanka, studies the land surface ecohydrological processes and their interactions with the atmosphere at micro to macro scales. We focus on research related to soil moisture-vegetation-atmosphere feedbacks and agricultural droughts. We leverage the strengths of remote sensing, numerical weather prediction and land surface models to address these questions. To bolster the utility of remote sensing measurements in science, our group works on passive microwave remote sensing with specific interests in algorithm development and uncertainty assessment towards an accurate estimation of soil moisture and plant water content.
We are looking for passionate new PhD students to join the group (more info) !
