About Me
Hey there! I'm Soham, a so-called nerd (or whatever they say in Gen Z lingo), juggling my love for physics, math, rockets, machine learning, cars, cricket, and you. Whether it's solving puzzles, speed-cubing with my Rubik’s cube, or diving into cool projects that turn nerdy ideas into real-world magic, I’m always up for a challenge. I thrive on trying new things, geeking out over the latest tech, and sparking conversations with awesome people.
I'm a sophomore student at IIT Bombay, currently pursuing B.Tech in Engineering Physics with honours in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. Apart from that, I am a Volunteer at the Maths N Physics Club at IITB and a Junior Design Engineer at the IITB Rocket Team.

Life
Life’s an adventure filled with endless opportunities to learn, grow, and redefine limits. I’m all about diving into new experiences, tackling challenges head-on, and evolving toward both personal and professional awesomeness.
Living the IIT Bombay life? It’s been a blast so far—amazing people, brilliant minds, and a campus that’s straight out of a dream. Hostels can be underwhelming, but the culture is not. Anyways, what’s not to love?
My Location
Hobbies
Books
I’m an avid reader with a deep love for fiction, history, and travel books.
As a proud Potterhead, I’ve read the Harry Potter series at least three times, finding new layers of magic with each revisit. My fascination with science and science fiction leads me to the works of Stephen Hawking,
whose insights into the cosmos are endlessly inspiring, and Isaac Asimov, whose visionary storytelling blends imagination with profound scientific ideas. Bill Bryson’s books captivate me with their unique blend of humor, curiosity, and informative takes on both science and travel.
I also enjoy immersing myself in the world of Percy Jackson, appreciating its fresh take on mythology through thrilling adventures. My love for history, especially Indian history, fuels my passion for exploring stories of the past and their relevance in shaping today’s world.
Sports
I’m a passionate sports enthusiast with a deep love for cricket, football, and F1. I’m a dedicated fan of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Lionel Messi, and I proudly support FC Barcelona. I can watch every ball of a test match, fully immersed in the game’s intensity.
My passion for automobiles fuels my interest in F1, where I avidly follow the sport’s thrilling competition. Additionally, I enjoy watching the Olympics, appreciating the incredible athleticism and global spirit it brings.
Movies
I love watching movies, from thrilling blockbusters to indie gems.
Quizzing
I do quizzing for mainly vibes, and have participated in various quiz competitions, representing school and now university team. My main genre is India, SciTech and Sports. I love India quizzing, partially because I am fond of reading about history, and have won multiple quizzes in this genre at school.
I also won Inter IIT Silver Medal in India at Cult Meet 2024 at Patna.
Travelling
I love discovering new places, cultures, and experiences through travel. I always want to go out and see things, whenever I'm free coz why not! I flex of travelling across whole India, except North East :sad (Surely is in my bucket list)
Projects
Pinpricks on Vortex: Star Cluster Analysis
Worked on a Computational Astronomy project focused on star cluster analysis, as part of the Krittika Summer Projects organized by Krittika, the Astronomy Club, IIT Bombay. Leveraged data from the Hubble Space Telescope
and the PHANGS survey to analyze the distribution of stars and gas, as well as determine the ages of star clusters. The project employed aperture photometry and color-color diagrams to extract and interpret astrophysical properties.

Elementary Particle Physics
Participated in a three-month reading project under the Summer of Science initiative by the Maths and Physics Club, IIT Bombay. The project focused on Elementary Particle Physics, where I built a strong foundation by starting with classical
and quantum mechanics and progressively explored advanced topics such as symmetries and quantum field theory. The approach was structured to develop an in-depth understanding, layer by layer, of this fascinating domain.

Turbulence: Non Linear Dynamics Course Project
As part of my Nonlinear Dynamics project, I delved into the study of the Navier-Stokes (NS) equations and the complex nature of turbulence, examining their real-world applications and implications. I simulated fluid flow around a cylindrical obstacle,
varying the Reynolds number, using the Lattice Boltzmann method in Python to visualize how turbulence evolves under different conditions. Additionally, I constructed a bifurcation diagram to analyze and better understand the transition to turbulence. This work sparked engaging discussions on why turbulence is
not only a subject of ongoing scientific debate but also an intriguing and captivating area of study.

NetWeavers: Neural Networks from Scratch
I participated in a Winter in Data Science project hosted by the Analytics Club at IIT Bombay, where I developed a neural network to identify and predict numeric digits using the MNIST dataset.
